From 5 to 7 April the city of Parma hosted the last General Assembly of "RUGGEDISED" which was attended by about 60 people from both the project's flagship cities: Umea (SE), Glasgow (SCO), and Rotterdam (NL) both from the follower cities Gdansk (PL), Brno (CZ) and the host city Parma.

The three days were characterized by intense work, carried out in synergy with local stakeholders at the end of a path that lasted six years and organized in one of the most beautiful locations in the city.

Participants were welcomed with a tasting of local products in the foyer of the Regio theater, considered one of the most important Italian opera houses, where they could admire the magnificent building commissioned by Maria Luigia Bonaparte in the first half of the 19th century. Guests also had the pleasure of seeing the set up of the stage live for the performance of the opera on the bill.

On the second day, the works took place inside the Lostello, located in the Citadel park, a place with a modern and green design that has made social inclusion its leitmotif. The icebreaking session kicked off the workshop organized in various working groups directed by the project's flagship cities. The topics covered touched on the most relevant issues in the field of smart cities, such as sustainable mobility, smart grids, integrated governance and much more.

In the second part of the day, stakeholders who have been collaborating for years with the Italian project team in the context of #parmafuturosmart attended the event presenting their organization to the guests. Social inclusion, b-corporation and adaptation to climate change were some of the key words that summarize the interventions of Chiesi Farmaceutici, Number One and the Kilometroverdeparma Forestry Consortium.

The most institutional greeting took place at the APE Museum, where there was a brief presentation of the main activities of the municipal administration by the Mayor of Parma, Federico Pizzarotti, the general manager, Marco Giorgi, the councilor for sustainability Tiziana Benassi and the director of

Nicola Rinaldi museum. The evening ended with a suggestive dinner in the exhibition rooms of the collection of paintings.

On the third day, the RUGGEDISED consortium was hosted at the San Paolo Complex, where guests were able to take advantage of the guided tour of the Camera di San Paolo and cell of Santa Caterina, an ancient monastery of the Benedictine nuns, and admire the frescoes by Alessandro Araldi and Correggio. Inside the main building, the works of the final day took place where the work focused on the focus of sustainability, a look at the future was taken and new opportunities for collaboration were evaluated. The meeting ended with a two-day wrap up review and an invitation to the final appointment to be held in Rotterdam next September.
